NEWSLETTER FOR JUNE 2026

My days have been very busy for the first half of this year.

Why you may well be asking? As my ninety five year old mother-in-law would have said, “with the social aspect of aging.” In other words, the regular doctor’s appointments and dental check ups, hearing and optician appointments etc, etc, etc, that become more frequent with the passing years. Seeing the same people in the same waiting rooms it turns into a social event of the week when an appointment becomes due. They have even brought me the delight of new friendships and comapnionshop. These are always a blessing. As my own wise mother often told me throughout my childhood, “you can never have too many friends.” It has proved so true, as age as age creeps up on me. My own grandmother told her that “the years fly past faster as you get older.” Another truism.

There have been some amazing prompts to write a bit more over the past months. Three grown up grandchildren for dinner inspired another go at writing a murder mystery. They thought of the title and strapline for the front cover before we had finished the main course. All I have to do is finish writing it and get it published. No pressure then! This was hotly pressed by trying to write a sequel to the novel that I had just completed for beta readers to peruse. They read it so eagerly and without consultation gave the same response. You must write a book about what happens next to this character. So, its busy, busy trying to find time to comply.

Time, especially in May is always hard to find in May. It is a mystery to me how there are so many family and friend birthdays with birthdays in the month of May every year. I have had to tell granchildren and Godchildren that future babies must not be born in May. I just can’t cope. My waistline can’t either. Please, think and plan carefully or I may just go off my rocker! Or have I already done so? Answers on a post card please.

Now it is the season for meeting and greeting, bookstalls and signing. I will endevour to give warning of where we could meet up when I am out and about. It’s always a pleasure to see you in person and be able to thak you for the encouraging words you share with me. Just keep an eye on my UPCOMING EVENTS and CALENDAR pages, Facebook too can keep you in my loop. I am hoping to fit in a couple of Murder Mystery evenings to brighten up my days and inspire my writing. Hopefully, conversations will bring the spark of a book to my attention.

In the meantime, may I take the opportunity to bless you with my love, thoughts and prayers for a wonderful summer enjoying good company and a joyous autumn of happy memories,
