A Short Introduction To The Author

I was born in Edinburgh but have lived in the Banbury area for over 40 years.

I am a Christian, wife, mother to wonderful children and now enjoying grandmotherhood. I love books and now I love to write them!

My first book is dedicated to the two wonderful storytellers of my childhood, my Scots grannie, Catherine Clelland, who read story after story to me and my mother, Helen, who introduced me to that wonderful treasure house, the Library!

The second to my friend, Jeni Knight. She was the one who dared me to write. You can learn more of that story elsewhere on this site.

The third, to an old friend from student days in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Sharing a flat soon knocks off the rough edges and she was a great help in teaching me how to cope with college life. Thank you, hen.

The whole triology was the inspiration of my God-daughters. My lovely girls, Ellen, Mim and Rosie. The desire to share my love of books started at their birth but teenage years saw few books to help with modern living that weren’t full of bad language, sex and violence. Yes, these exist, I will admit. However, they are things to be avoided, not welcomed in the form of birthday and Christmas gifts. So the result,  a book each that have no sex, violence or bad language. Hopefully the mystery and suspense elements are compensation enough to make them a useful way to learn a bit about how to cope with the world we live in today. This does not mean that these books are only suitable for the young female reader. Not at all! They have been read by those both male and female from aged 10 to 95. Any older readers? Please let me know what you think of them. I love hearing people’s views on them.

Here are just a few pages from my scrap book which shows my history as an author.  I am passionate about capturing my journey as I write.  I take my full scrapbook with me for events, so be sure to look out for it at my next book signing.
