FLYING FINGERS

The past few weeks have been manic. Hence, I’ve called this update Flying Fingers.

What have I been up to? Writing, writing and yes, more writing. On my writing my fingers have had to just fly from morning until 6pm. The cut off for a starving husband. I have been putting the final bits in place for my new book that is coming out next month, plus writing a short story and trying to keep in touch with everyone. My husband thinks that I am a maniac. However, I prefer to think of it as just manic!

The lovely weather that the last few days have brought has been just the spur I needed as I have always had more energy when sun comes out. Having lived for a couple of years in the Persian Gulf I became very fond of dry heat. It energises me but the humid sort, I find it drains me. It makes me desperate for and ice cold bath or a lovely cold shower. That’s when Colorado comes to mind. The week we spent there visiting family meant that I got up at five o’clock and went to the gym and pool with Cameron and while He sweated it out in the gym, I headed outside under the dark starlit sky to watch the dawn rise while I swam to my heart’s content. It was positively magical. A pool all to myself and the wonder of the stars flung into the sky by God’s hands. Awesome.

Right now though I am looking out on my back garden that has been sadly neglected while I have been so busy. My raised flower bed is my domain alone but the two vegetable ones are a shared project with the boss.

As you will see, the combined sun and rain of the last month has had quite an impact! I shall have to get the fingers flying in their direction or I fear we shall be overtaken by all the green growth on the tomato, cucumber and squash plants. Or are they triffids?

The flowers have bloomed once and are now blooming wildly a second time in two months. The view from my writing shack window is normally pink and white but my hot pink salvia has almost disappeared. I can hear it calling me to rescue it, fast. I better just get a move on with it. If you have a spare minute and fancy a short story, try my latest venture and let me know if you like it, please. It’s always good to have some feedback, thank you.
